It depends. Case Manager is such a broad title. I’ve seen some PI firms use it to describe their entire Intake Dept. and others use it for the more senior pre-lit personnel (handling demand letters, lien identification/negotiation, med chrons, etc.). Of course the geographical location of the firm makes a big difference as well. In San Diego, California, a typical range would be anywhere from $18-$30/hour depending on those factors.
I keep up with the client, providers, and adjusters. I demand and negotiate/settle if possible to settle. Case load 150-200. I’m in Texas.

What job duties?
Keeping up with medical, providers, and client. Demanding and negotiating. Case load of about 150-200. Heavy work load. Fast paced and I have to detail oriented.
Based on what you have described, in CA it would like range from $75-125K per year. With that said, COL will likely have some factor. Case managers and senior/litigation paralegals wages are often similar in this field. I've been with a CA PI firm for 15 years and started as a legal secretary, to pre-lit case manager, to senior trial paralegal, and have been looking into average wages in the paralegal/case manager field in my state lately.
OP - I feel like a lot of us are starting to realize that, especially those who have been at their employment pre-pamdemic. Wages have not increased anywhere close to the rate cost of living has, and we're still being paid as if the dollar goes as far as it did in 2019. It's time to start looking for employers who want to see their employees able to build a life outside of work and not just be hamsters on a wheel. I saw somewhere recently that in 2019 approx $52K held the same value that $59K holds now in 2023, in CA.
It depends. I worked at a big PI mill and they hired case managers with little to no experience. Paid them around $20/hour. I also worked at a smaller PI firm and our case manager had 7 years of experience as an insurance adjuster and he was paid around $85k base with an annual bonus. Both firms just outside a major metro area.
