What is an appropriate bonus to give your admin (she books all my travel and processes expenses/receipts)? Travel once or twice a month, don’t have her schedule meetings for me at this point.

Not sure where RA1 works... $200 sounded right, especially if she covers multiple people

On the buyside admins get bonuses from the firm. In banking, $200-300 sounds fine and $500 is pretty generous given you’re not that senior

Oh I see. Was definitely pegging year end bonus for for admins at my HF.

Starts ~200 first year ASO, should prob increase every year if you like them

$200 is generous and would be appreciated. Associate 1 is right.

I’m totally empathetic to people that miss offices and traveling. I understand your reasons why, I truly do.

For me personally, after non-stop weekly travel for 4 straight years, not traveling has made me realize how much I enjoy being home. Spending time with family, sleeping in your own bed, consistent exercise schedule, etc.

I for one hope consulting becomes more of a hybrid travel model (i.e. travel 1-2x per month or as needed). Else it won’t be for me.

Anyways, just some thoughts.

Joining MBB in Oct and wondering what credit card to get.

factors to consider:
•Currently have CapOne Quicksilver (did it for intro $ offer a year+ ago).
•Backpacking Europe for ~6 weeks in Aug, so looking to put purchases on new card. Already paid round trip, but not the intermediate parts.
•Unsure how much traveling for cases, esp w the WFH situation.

Was looking at Chase Freedom Unlimited for $300 offer & % cash back, but curious ab other options. Corp card prob also affects decision.

How hard is everyone pushing their corporate clients to authorize nonresident assignees whose only 2020 US compensation was the value of their 2019 tax preparation?
My clients are pushing back on it this year, and I can't say I blame them. If I were in their shoes, I'd rather take the risk of not filing than the expense of filing again. From my own point of view, I don't really want to spend my time on such returns, either, even if the revenue and easy return are nice.

He also offered Joining bonus if I could join in 2 months. HR said the date is tentative and they will renew the offer, so I accepted the offer. Now am running behind the HR to get the offer renewed. Can I trust their words, or will they backout from the offer after 2 months. Please help.

Hello!

Any advice on how to request a 20% raise? This is my first career out of college. I signed my offer letter knowing that I was being underpaid by 10%, as per the posted position salary. My 1-year appraisal is close and I would like to request 20% based on an increased workload; I would also like to make up for being underpaid my first year.

My dilemma: Many companies only pay up to a 4% raise. However, that will not cover much in this economy, and I would still be still underpaid.

Hi Folks,

I'm in negotiation with the this data company (which is only 10 % over offered fixed ctc) but HR hasn't shown much confidence. They have asked for week's time & say can only offer a signing bonus. I'm getting a bit nervous as it's an opportunity I've always wanted!

Am I panicking unnecessarily? Should I hold my nerve? Or should I break the logjam and just accept?

PS I had just joined another org because they were taking too long to process + my dream co is only matching current CTC.

This is provisional offer letter , yet to receive original offer letter. Let me understand the ctc, variable pay, and in hand salary. 12lpa is the ctc right.

Hi all, I have a question regarding retirement accounts. I am not sure if I should choose a Roth or 401k (company has 4+2% match). Currently 23, base salary is ~100k and investments have brought 45k this year which has me teetering between a 22-24% tax bracket. Wondering what the usual tax bracket is of people retired (around 65yo) as I’m not sure anything would bring in significant income with the exception of investments. In my case would a Roth make sense? Appreciate any answers!!
