My preference would be Bank of America or edwards jones.
I want to be able to research on the capital markets as well I don’t want to just sell their products i don’t know what’s available for that.
You can submit your application to your local financial institution, investment company or financial advisory firm
Like who just anyone what places would you recommend
Where are you located?
Houston but I am from Bradenton Florida it’s by Tampa so I can try both states and cities

You need an IA license first. You are going to have a very very hard time being a commission only broker in this day and age.

66 is the main one. Depends on if you want to eventually go manager route. Then look at series 24/4/53 or your 9/10.
It depends. Since you said that you have your insurance and Series7, do you currently have a book of clients? If so, then go straight with an independent broker. Why? The highest payouts. Why work for a bank for a low GDC %? Be wary of going anywhere where they are "manangement-heavy". In my many years of being a FA, I have never had a supervisor that was worth the salary they are paid to help "grow your business". I only wish I went indy 15 years earlier.

FA1, 100%. Financial advisors don’t learn from their sales managers, they learn from their peers.
The most important skill when building an FA practice is the ability to attract and retain clients. Research doesn’t help you do that. Your choice is to go into a system that will train you, such as Ed Jones, or find an independent that will help you grow. As mentioned by others, the latter is hard to find because many independents owners aren’t willing to spend the time and resources training someone who plans to leave when they’ve gained enough experience. I’m one who does, but I’m admittedly rare.
Thank you for your advice!!
