What is the difference in salary between an SC in Accenture vs Accenture strategy in NYC? How do I know the role I’m interviewing for is in strategy?

If you see an open job posting at a company you want to work for, what steps do you take to apply? I’ve been told that cold applying and making no contacts is usually not going to lead to anything, and that’s been true in my experience. But should I reach out to someone first? Should i apply and then email someone? In HR? Or someone who’d be directly supervising me? Or someone at my level? And what should i say? Thanks!

Hi- I’m an hourly AA, been on the role for 6 months now and it’s my first AA job. I did not get a raise when I took the job because it was technically a demotion ( I was a team leader at a contact center). Told a friend of mine in tech I was considering moving to BCG. He asked me if I would have to move to Boston.
