Job-Hunting reach-out to VC from previous fundraising effort for own startup
I have e-mail archive from 1y ago of my reach-out to 65 VCs in London: we had video calls, they might remember me still, who knows.
I want to send a reply/forward message to the same e-mail thread from abc@gmail.com, saying that I am looking for roles within their VC firm. Is that a good idea?
Or shall I just start new email thread and mention how I know them?

If you have to ask then you are not ready
You are so smart
Internal or direct admit (external)?
For the former there isn’t an “interview” process per se...there used to be but it was eliminated a couple of years ago.
For the latter it’s pretty rigorous (I’ve been part of multiple, for partner and MD). Basically we are trying to figure out 1) how you will bring/build a book of business, and 2) how you’ll fit culturally (just as important). I would expect very, very few direct admits in FY20 and 21 given the current market.
Direct admit.. I.agree it is a difficult market but the process also takes a long time. Any other tips?
Cultural fit is important...be ready to talk about who you team with, and how it works. Most of the direct admits who stumble do something because they fail to build a broad enough network quickly enough. Talk to some partners about how they team w Tax and Assurance...big difference for those coming from a tech firm.
We have a 3+ year partner development program for experienced directors. I would have to think that adding interviews on top would be redundant where in essence the multi year program is one giant interview. 🤷🏻♀️
Most people on fishbowl are going the other direction. What level are you at currently with amazon and why are you trying to switch to PwC? Were you with a big 4 before?
As far as your direct admit process, it will be a lot more rigorous than internal admit. They will likely fly you around to meet their national leadership. They will also have to do math and see if you will bring in enough to make yourself a p. This also needs to be supported by the market. They may even ask you to relocate.
OP, curious on how you’d articulate your case for business development. Do you have experience at multiple companies similar in scale to google? Where will your “buyers” be coming from once you start consulting?
