Hello everyone! How do you manage holiday pay when the holiday is on a Saturday/ Sunday. For example, if I have someone working on Christmas (Sunday), they should be paid 1.5 but what if they work on Monday as well?I know this might sound silly to some people but I’m covering for payroll for the holidays and I don’t want to mess up!

What are the weirdest reasons you have heard for people being laid-off? I have heard someone getting laid off because they missed submitting their time-sheets for 3 times in a year.

I currently work as an APM at a FAANG company but recently received an offer to join an MBB. I’m very excited about the role but didn’t realize I’d need to take a pay cut when I applied (~100k base + ~20k bonus + ~60k equity vs. 90k base + 10-20k bonus). Considering that I currently work 40-60 hours/week, I’ll be making significantly less per hour at the MBB. I’m very interested in the opportunity but also don’t want to make a poor financial decision early in my career. Thank you for your time!

A week or so ago, someone shared a stacked bar chart of each MBB/Big 4 firm that highlighted the percentage of consultants that say they work 40, 50, 60 hours etc a week at each firm. Deloitte fish: I’m an alum trying to do some retirement planning. I was an SM2 vested in the pension plan (I worked in DTTL for 7 years ending 2013) and want to find out what my actual benefits will be and at what age. I have no paperwork and 800-Deloitte does not seem to have a way to route me to the right people. Does anyone have a human contact or procedure that can help me get this info?

I got laid off from deloitte. Now i work in cre asset management. I don't love my job. I am on visa (opt stem) . I need to work on finding happiness with my work to be more productive and be happy. I am very depressed and therapy isn't helping. If anyone is in a similar situation or can offer support or advice I would greatly appreciate it. TIA.
