43/F traveling solo to Monterey, CA this Friday for a weekend conference. This will be my first vacation in 6 years. I've been to Cannery Row and the aquarium but that's about it. Any recommendations for good restaurants/things to do?
Going to be in Madrid for the next 4 days on vacation. Any recommendations?? Used points so will be staying at the Westin Palace Madrid.
Just received cousin's invite to her wedding and it's on a Sunday. It's not necessarily a destination wedding but is in a city that neither she nor her family, nor her partner's family lives, so everybody has to fly + get hotels. I'm annoyed because I think it's a but disrespectful to your guests to make them all travel and do it on a Sunday so people have to take time off work Monday in order to attend. I know I don't have to attend, but shouldn't it be convenient for guests?
Has anyone tried Glamsquad in NYC? Debating buying their 3 blowout package for holiday party season!
Currently have my vaca. balance maxed out, but I'm going to take a 3 week vacation in 2 months. Anyway to "spend" my vacation in advance w/o actually taking it so I can continue to accrue more vaca???
Paid team currently complaining about which vendors didn’t send them holiday gifts this year 🙄
Been on vacation for a week and I don’t want to go back tomorrow. Spending time outside, chilling with my dog and endless Netflix is so much better. 🙈
What happened to good old-fashioned holiday bonuses? I'd rather a check than a $20k practice holiday party (and I help plan, so yes, it's at least that much).
I’ve never been a regular vacation-taker, but now I’m resolved to become one. Especially because my company has an unlimited PTO policy. Would 4 weeks of total vacation per year be considered a lot/excessive at your company? I’m thinking of doing two one week vacations, and one two week vacation, and booking them far in advance.
Given the state of the world, are you keeping your vacations in tact that you planned way in advance? In the event that this is over, is it irresponsible to take a vacation?
When you left accenture and cashed out your PTO days, how long after did it take for the $ to show up in your checking account ? I didn’t get it with my final paycheck
I had this weird dream that leadership announced we will be getting the whole month of August off without having to use our PTO 🤣🤣🤣
What’s the maximum PTO payout if I quit? I’ve got a ton of hours saved up. Like 8 weeks. Will I get all of it?
I interviewed for a role for another team within my organization and went on PTO for 2 days. When I came back my director told me I didn’t get the role but there were better plans for me in the near future. I found out from HR after that I did get the role but the organization decided to pause the offer waiting for another one in the near future. How would you react if your Director and company make a career choice for you without consulting with you?
I’m on PTO doing some final studying for my GMAT in 2 days but my PPMD is pinging me to help on something. I told him about this PTO well in advance (several months ago), but I don’t want to disclose that I’m taking the GMAT to him which is why I will not be doing work. What should I do?
Made by me for our "entitled" brothers/sisters at EY. Hope you all leave and get the respect/PTO you deserve.
I am new associate at firm and I am noticing the other associates haven’t taken much vacation days. I have 20. I’ve only used 2. I have to use them or I loose them. Any thoughts — I worry what partners would think if I do take vacation within first year. Obviously I would take the whole time. Just 5-6 days. Thoughts????
I had a 1st round interview last week and I didn’t love the sound of the job. It’s in higher ed. It would also be a 20k pay cut (105 -> 85). They want to do a final round with me this week. During the interview, the director who would be my manager said they are understaffed and very busy. She also said someone in this role needs to love working. I don’t necessarily want to transition to another busy place for a pay cut. The only perk I see is the time off university staff get and tuition...comt
What are the top 3 things you look for in a job/profession? Please keep to max 3 only. I will go first: 1. Degree of challenge 2. Firm culture 3. Money
What’s the typical salary range for Manager level at PwC Risk Assurance? I’m looking at two teams - 1) Adv Risk Analytics and 2) Enterprise Systems Solutions. Also, what can I expect in the interview?
wtf does a "chief diversity officer" do exactly? forgive my dumb white ass but besides recruiting multicultural people and maybe hosting some events, is there really place for a c-suite role here?
Dating boyfriend for about 1.5 years now. Last night I was super sad because for the entire day he didn’t care to text / call until 9pm at night for 10 min. He Usually calls me in the late afternoon. He’a currently prepping for interviews and only wants to see me once a week as a result….recently checked his insta because I missed him and that became a night of me looking up the girls he followed because I accidentally found 1 that was 5 yrs younger with a provocative photo:( i feel sad.
Hi anyone with entry level data science openings? My wife is looking to start her data science journey.
Had a final round last Monday. When is it acceptable to reach out to the recruiter for an update since the tail end of last week was a holiday?
Hi Folks, How to prepare for an interview for ED-Product Management at JPMC? (Wholesale Payments) any pointers or your experience will really help...thanks for your kind support!
Any Latinos feeling left out of all this diversity buzz? Seems we are always invisible :/
Was reached out to by a Vynamic recruiter Really want to get into healthcare-specific consulting, but would love to move into this space along with a bump. Currently make $120k base ~10k bonus per year with 4.5 YOE. Anyone know of Vynamic’s average comp at the Manager level & if I can expect an increase?
How incrementally valued is 1 year, 2 years, 2.5 years post-MBA? (Before making manager)
pwc foreign Global Mobility offices (IAS) have apparently been asked to confirm if they will remain with pwc or be part of a sale of the GLOBAL MOBILITY practice (presumably the US one). Seems odd, to say the least. I feel for my fellow IAS colleagues (I’m sure the partners past and present may get a sweet bonus / retention payment … others 🤔??).
What is the role of account person when the producer handles most of the client correspondence, timing, scoping and internal processes?
Currently pushing for a promotion and trying to gauge what salary I should be asking for. Any thoughts on starting salaries for senior strategists? Or a typical percentage increase from current?
Is it still a bad time to move to NYC? Would be WFH but wanting to get it over with and get out of parent’s house. Would be coming from FL so assuming it’ll be quite a shock moving there
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
What should you do if a recruiter won’t respond after an in person interview? It’s been weeks and no followup. My recruiter switched after my phone screen- & I haven’t had any contact with this person
