Managing attorneys in small firms - how much do you make?

I'm in South Florida. Currently a 6 year associate at a small firm (~12 attorneys, 55 staff). Making a move towards Managing Attorney position that they are considering hiring from outside the firm for. I'm going to make the case that they should promote from within and give me the position. I had a good feedback, promotion also supported but the green dot of scatter plot is down ..i was expecting upward
My manager told me that this year bel curve is reintroduced and due certain process change in scatter plot , difference is expected( its mentioned in mail also) but she has assured that everything is fine and promotion is also supported but due to bellcurve, normalization has taken place .rest they have given good feedback..any comments/suggestion?
