What is the standard yearly hike in IT Security industry in North America? I have worked for 7 months in a company in Canada, and I got a yearly hike of just 3% in my first appraisal cycle. My manager says that you get 3% when you are meeting expectations but not going above and beyond. Is this the standard or am I being underpaid? According to me, I haven't gone above and beyond every day, but there are some things I did work on exceptionally well.

First trimester insomnia?
I’m only about 5 weeks, but my sleep schedule has gone off the rail the last three nights. I’m sleepy/drowsy, settled in bed around the same time every night, and yet I cannot fall or stay asleep. I have a white noise machine, comfy bed, cool room.. etc. When I do fall asleep, it’s earlier in the morning and I sleep until 1/1:30pm. This was fine the first few nights since it was the weekend, but it can’t keep up. Anyone else experience this and have any recommendations?

I had 5AA t/f(modified FET) on 11/07, today (11/16)I had blood work, nurse told HCG level is: 168.5, and will be checking again on 11/18, to see if HCG is raising. Is this good value? This is my first time IVF , little worried but again not keeping many hopes and become depressed I’d something goes wrong. Meanwhile trying to stay positive as well.

AWS vs Cloudflare BDR roles

AWS lowballed but I negotiated to match Cloudflare. Cloudflare offers more equity but AWS has a higher base.

I love Cloudflare. The people are great but it’s an engineering culture and the sales team isn’t as well shaped up and I can’t go for a promotion until at least 18 months of tenure. I am an investor in the company and think of them super highly. I’ve already got half a years SDR experience and AWS promotes quicker.
