Based on my personal experience, a client interview is generally an introductory call with the employee/contractor.
They will never ask you technical or in depth questions.
They just want to know about your background and stuff generally.
I have had one client interview lately, the client asked too much technical details that was not even asked during the selection process by my employer.
And I tried to tell him though could not answer all the questions.
And I didn't hear back from my manager, probably the deal was not closed for whatsoever reason.
My employer was outsourcing me to an Indian company who was to outsource me to his US client.
Made me to think, how many X my current salary they would be charging to US client!!
Either the hiring managers are unsure or too scared to take a decision and want the client to decide for them.
Or the client is too demanding about the candidates and wants to confirm before they pay for your billing rates.
Either way you're getting interviewed for a live project and the client and accounts are already fixed.
The client round mostly are same as technical interview and managerial interview.
Sometimes it will be easier and sometimes it will be more tough.
Depends of the clients expectations
This won't happen in product based company, the product is their own so they are the client itself.
