I switched to become a SWE. ERP is a complex software, implementing it taught me a lot about software architecture. I think this is a big advantage I have over other entry - mid level SWEs.
I did have to teach myself to code though...
Wow !! That is awesome :) Thank you for sharing.
I want to know too
Depends on your background and level. I've seen people transition to ERP manager (day to day management of ERP), transformation manager (PM for implementation on client side), BA, or IT manager (overall it, not just erp). I've also seen people go directly into a functional role (e.g. Someone who does implementation for the finance modules becomes a FP&A or finance manager)
Why is it depressing? I mean if there's something different you want to do, you can likely switch internally at your firm to build experience and then jump to industry from there. Or just switch directly to industry at a lower level
