What is the standard yearly hike in IT Security industry in North America? I have worked for 7 months in Threat Intelligence in a company in Canada, and I got a yearly hike of just 3% in my first appraisal cycle. My manager says that you get 3% when you are meeting expectations but not going above and beyond. Is this the standard or am I being underpaid? Have final round interviews at BCG tomorrow. I'm at S& right now at the SA level. Father had a sudden health issue come up this week and it's got me off my game. Can’t decide between reporting + technical roles vs corporate accounting roles. Coming out of audit and I like both aspects. Has anyone tried both sides and have any insights? Does one of these have higher salary potential? Does corporate accounting give you a higher chance of reaching a controller position since you’re actually in the GL, whereas technical + reporting will probably have you in a specialized group in larger companies?

What’s it like in these SF Bay tech companies ? With the crazy benefits and high pay ? Any tax folks here can shed light on difference between that and PA?
