Heard lots of rumours of productivity being horrendous since COVID and remote working, engineers working 50% weeks for big money. Probably just a good clean up shop as D1 suggested, but would be interesting if they’ve cut back bit on metaverse (for example)
Layoffs are all the same always. Full teams if the business argument isn't there to keep it. And then picking off the lowest performers across the board. If someone has been annoyed with you, now's their chance to say, lowest performer!
Lots of PM's who were hired post MBA were fired too. Unless you are a AI/ML engineer, you couldn't breathe easy
Not even. Only guy on my team laid off was ML Eng.

The layoffs missed the one person who truly deserves to get canned.
From an insider perspective, seems to have been a good mix of performance (people identified as Needs Support) and business need.
Good to have someone who actually knows what they’re talking about in the room!
I saw posts where full teams got axed…
Their talent acquisition team was also asymmetrically impacted.. which almost always happens in these situations.
