Glenfarclas 12, very first Scotch while on a distillery tour in the Highlands. Very happy to discover that a liquor store close by now sells it!
Couvassier was my gateway spirit. Glenmorangie Lasanta was my gateway whiskey. Eagle Rare was my gateway bourbon. Nowadays I’ll drink just about any whiskey neat, strong preference for cask strength, with a current lean towards ryes and Irish.

Started with Toki - now more into bourbon espc barrel or full proof. Favorites include OF SIb store picks and bookers.
JD and Crown in college. Went beer then craft beer for a long time. Then it was old fashioneds followed by a few neat HW Rendezvous Ryes (back when it was Barton) and WT 101s. Now have 250+ bottles with over 100 open (the others are mostly backups). Interesting that I've gone full circle - I love JD 12 and JDSBBSR
Highland Park 12. Still go back to it. Great whisky.
I got really into peaty Islay whiskies but now am back with highland and Speyside unlearned. Got some more MacAllan recently which is nice, and Caol Isla.

Does fireball count? The first real whisky I got into was four roses cuz my manager would always order it for us back when I was analyst. Right now, more of a bourbon guy with favorites being OF Whisky Row lineup and EW BiB for my daily sipper
From southern comfort to EC barrel proof
Macallan 12 got me into whisky. Now am a big Japanese whisky drinker (Hakushu 12, Yamazaki 12, Ichiro’s Malt & Grain, Akkeshi Newborn Foundations 4 - are my go-to’s, although have been cracking open less of the aged goodness). For scotch - enjoy a good Oban or Balvenie, and for bourbon - Eagle Rare, Elijah Craig, Blanton’s are ones I enjoy! The bottle in my collection that surprised me most was the South Island 25 (from NZ) - try to snag all in stock bottles whenever I come across it.
Bowmore 12 got me into single malt scotch
