In a tough situation and need some advice. I’m an audit associate who got passed up for senior promotion this year, but senioring a busy season engagement. There is another senior that is supposed to be on the job, but he hasn’t been staffed on the engagement the past couple weeks and is off this week. I now have the full responsibility of this engagement on my hands and feel like it’s pretty unfair considering I got passed up for promotion and am not getting paid to be a senior. What do I do?
When getting promoted from analyst to senior analyst, is raise expected without asking? Usually how much more is given?? 🤑
I’m about to turn down a 25% raise from a competing agency because my company just gave me a promotion (7% raise) because I like my leadership team... am I stupid?
A3 going into Senior promotion with recent snapshots being all “at next level”. What should I expect for tier / bonus / raise?
The hustle culture is killing me. Working until midnight everyday with no salary raise this year. Is it time to move? Just heard Deloitte people are getting raise this year.
How does a bad review before you leave to another group within the firm or to another firm? Anyone talked to the reviewer on potentially raise the review just because you are leaving? Not sure if that is something people do
Say you work at Accenture and are doing OK (haven't been laid off yet and have projects lined up). Also let's say that you have good skills in cloud infrastructure, which is plenty busy right now. What would motivate you to accept a job offer at a tiny consulting firm (less than 300 people)? Would a good raise and a promotion to Senior Manager be enough? There are many risks involved with going to a tiny firm. What would it take for you make the jump and overcome concerns?
🐠🐠 Wondering how you'd perceive a person in a C-Suite or leadership position: - typically a smooth talker - acts like he was struck by lightning when things don't go his way, though it shouldn't have been a surprise - claims to have low EQ when he causes misunderstandings, yet doesn't take action to resolve it, or get help to raise his EQ - says he doesn't know anything about current events (or ones from a few years ago) or keeps up with news because he only has Netflix, no cable & such
If I recently got a raise above 125k, how soon do the Roth IRA income limits apply? Is it after I submit a tax return of above 125k MAGI?
I’m a junior w/o a partner. I work 60+ hrs every week on multiple clients/pitches but feel I’m not getting opportunities despite promises of more. When is it okay to ask for a raise and by how much?
Does EY do early promotion?
I’m getting average reviews and should be up for promotion this fall. There is also a business need for a manager. How likely is it that my team finds an external candidate and skips over me for promotion?
Up for promotion to manager, have an offer to leave Big 4 for a 35% pay bump. Would you try to negotiate if you know others who have jumped to the same company for 15% more?
Really nervous that going on necessary short term disability for a few weeks is going to hurt my promotion schedule. Is that nuts or will it be viewed negatively by management?
Does Kearney have a much faster promotion cycle than most consulting firms? Why am I seeing Managers with barely 4-5 years of experience? Would like to see what the promotion timeline looks like if anyone can share!
Resigned my job and my company made me a counter offer that matches my new job offer. The caveat is that the raise won’t apply until Q2. Why the hell would they even bother making an offer like that?
Boss is cool giving me some minor additional responsibilities on projects (delegating to other creatives, leading client presentations). How can I parlay this into a promotion to Senior AD? Or ACD?
What would you do if you got a job offer making 40-50k more than what you’re making? Same title, and would be a lateral move at a different agency. I’m really happy at my current agency, but they lowballed me coming in. Since I’ve started 2 years ago I’ve produced a ton of work, they offered me a small raise in March (only 15k) which got put off because of COVID and hasn’t been brought up again.
Incompetent senior is up for promotion this year and is mostly likely gonna get promoted cuz she knows how to kiss asses. A couple people on her projects already quit and no associates want to (con’t)
Currently pregnant and up for promotion to Executive Director. My manager is supportive and eager to help. He has been vocal and helping me build relationships w his boss and peers. At how many weeks would you announce? I don’t want to halt the process but be honest that I’ll be on leave starting June - November. And honestly, my focus will change.
Is getting CFE worth it? I’ve failed the 3 different sections of the CPA and I am giving up. But I would like some kind of certification to look a tad more marketable. Thoughts?
DFW is a shitshow today. Thanks thunderstorms.
Walking to my Delta Comfort seat only to see an overweight whale trying to breathe. This 3hr flight is going to suck.
Anyone interact with the Product Team at Workday Prism Analytics? Looking to understand more about the interview process, team culture, WLB, comp, etc.
Why is the consulting industry still not facing the music for all the useless air travel and resulting impact on climate change ?
Booked a hotel via Amex travel for a business trip and Bonvoy does not want to give me the nights. Does anyone have a solution for that?
What are your thoughts on jumping to another firm after only 4 months with my current firm? Going from mid tier to big 4 and was offered a 25k pay bump.
For those of you who have been laid off, what do your days look like? Someone told me to expect 3-4 months at LEAST before finding another job
Mom justgot diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Without treatment, the doc says she's got 6 mnths. She wants to enjoy the time she has left and not go through chemo, etc. Any advice frm others with exp?
Do MBA programs take grade deflation into account at all? I went to UC Berkeley and started off pre-med. Changed to Econ and had a 3.5 major gpa but 3.3 overall, can a good story+GMAT save me for M7?
Hi Fishies, currently in the recruitment process for a strategy and planning lead role at UBER. Passed the analytics test and was invited to an interview with an senior manager. Anyone who can give me
Next week I’m having my first lateral interview as a junior associate. I’m very nervous because the group with whom I’m interviewing works with life science/tech clients and the attorneys have strong science/tech backgrounds; and I do not. However, I am very, very interested in transitioning to this practice. And I reaaally want this job because it’s at my dream firm. How would you recommend preparing for the lateral interview?
Humble question: How do you know you're good enough? I'm a high performer at a local boutique firm in South Africa, looking to apply internationally at MBB/Big 4/Tier 2 (recruitment esp. international is a separate discussion). Since I've only ever been with one firm, I don't have a yardstick to compare myself to. I'm concerned about whether I match up with my peers at other firms. Any advice, experience or 2c on the above is appreciated.
Company is raffling a pack of beer and a gift card to a sports bar for International Beer Day. Thoughts as an HR professional? Yay or nay?
28M, Just getting into self investing (have ~$32k invested with Wealthfront Roth IRA/Individual Savings, ~$26k in ACN stock, ~$175k in 401k , investment real estate property and 6 months emergency cash in Ally Savings). Have about $20k to invest, thinking about starting with $5k and dumping it into VTI, VOO, and QQQ evenly (~33% in each) thoughts?
Novice question - are formulas expensive - can someone give me a ballpark for a good organic formula? I am pregnant with my second and don’t think I can manage a toddler and go through breastfeeding with a new born all by myself. Also open to combo feeding ideas where I breast feed during the day and formula during the night if you have done something like that.
How does MBB recruiting for 1 Year (INSEAD/Kellogg) or shorter MBA (LBS) work? Apply as soon as you start classes? Coming from ACN strategy, trying to bump up a tier. 2 year much higher probability?
