Hi all, recently in touch by Spotify recruiter for a Sec Engineer position for remote EU and was told that range was 60-80 out of base salary and equity. Had 2 years of security experience out of my 4 years. Was also told that there is no bonus scheme or no sign in bonus 😕 Not sure how I feel about this tbh.
What do you think?

Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

Realistically, these offers net out to a zero financial gain with increases in cost of living in San Fran. Your cost of housing will double moving to San Fran and eat up much of that perceived salary increase. I see this as a lateral move financially not as a step up.
For 0 overall net move financially, it comes down to quality of life. For me, I would stay in Philly. You would never catch me in the office 5 days a week again unless I had no other choice.
In my opinion, likely a net loss. After taxes and added COL, you’ll be worse off.
You seem happy where you are at. Stay, the grass isn't greener on the other side.

5 days a week is nuts. Also cost of living will be WAY higher in SF, which will wipe out a lot of that base increase. Also what’s the WLB at the boutique? I would assume worse than current.
it would be a worse WLB I’m guessing
I lived in sf. Id stay where you are. If this was a massive name brand that dramatically elevated your exit ops afterwards and opened doors for you then yes, otherwise stay put.
It certainly could, big 4 firms are struggling. This is a big moment for both independent and smaller firms to take a chunk out of larger firms because they can get AI tools and be very efficient and do some of the same work at a lower cost. Youre seeing some bug 4 partners launch small firms ans get bought out quickly or get funded quickly.
So yes there is potentialy opportunities to move up quickly there. But you can sniff that out in your conversations with them.
Id ask them what their vision of your role is. I always ask that cause it can catch an interviewer off gaurd. Like do they have an actual plan if they're a small company or are we just winging it. And ask it like is there work thats eating up partners time that you can expect to own. Do they plan to let you own a client relationship or some % of biz dev. Just get a read on their commitment.
Another thing to think about is proximity to sf. If you are tech, being in sf has huge perks. I am in fintech and I was exposed to some unbelievable stuff. I attended school happy hours and met corporate venture groups. So there are non monetary benefits to think about too.
It’s a net financial loss for sure, I mean do it if you want to live in SF. If it’s simply money definitely don’t
I commented earlier but would not take for reasons above

SF cost of living is way higher. You may end up making less than now with state taxes, cost of living in SF
