2.
How about what do you want to do to be happy?
Laid off too.
I hear you. Guess at this point I’m struggling to figure that out.
Sorry about your layoff too.
Lol, man Your definition of feeling torn is very different. For me both are winners as in my case my option is going to end in next 30 days (I am on Visa)
Anyway - I would opt for industry job as it gives you stability and also depending on kind of person your are. Like, I am someone who would hit gym or play some sports in the evening, probably some good breakfast on odd days. These things I cannot ever do in a high burn consulting job. So, just choose based on what kind of person you are.
No, not demeaning at all. Thanks for your kind words. It’s a crap situation all around. Hang in there.
2 for time being
If you’re young and unmarried go with the option 2. $$25K is a substantial amount to consider!!
If you can find two options in this pandemic, you can find a new job anytime you decide to discontinue working at Big 4. On the downside if you go with option 1 you’d be losing $40K
You should ask yourself a question - is it really worth it to play that safe? IMO, I’d go with option 2
Definitely. Thanks for this perspective.

Wow congrats on the quick turnaround at another B4. I’d say take some time off (if you have the cash reserves) and really assess what you want - could be a great opportunity for self-reflection.
No, not at all! I appreciate your thoughts and congrats! The whole self-reflection phase has me spinning myself.
Take the money now. You can always quit and go to industry again later, but it will be harder to get the higher paying big 4 role later if you decide you want to make $40k more. They are unlikely to lay you off in the first year, so you have time to meet the team and get settled.
Totally. Thank you.
