2 weeks per year of work !
I think one month per year of service is pretty standard when theres a severance policy.
Huh. Maybe jve just been lucky in what I've come across.
If severance is offered, and that’s a big IF, it varies by the situation. If the company is well off and winding down a redundant operation (think post merger) expect to get more than say you might in a global pandemic causing widespread economic collapse in some industries.
I usually see a sliding scale based on tenure. Newbies get not much of anything. Then under 5 years get 1 to 2 weeks for year of service.
It randomly goes up from there.
If the company is in distress, all bets are off.
Supposedly in 2008 it was one month salary for every year worked at EY.
My buddy receive a year severance when they divested his fund and laid everyone off. That’s finance though. I saw another thread that said his firm was offering 4 months, but it was a voluntary leave severance
