Probably a tie between how deals are conducted and business development is constantly done, and not being able to use the threat of violence to get things done. They could be related…
Love this!
Same kind of deal. I know how to do things. Help me see the steps in between.
Having to think of PC insults
Nothing. Hardest thing about being a civilian is remembering your insurance card when you got to medical and not receiving Motrin for every visit.
BJs make my jaw hurt
The work part. But I’m not hot enough to be a trophy wife so here we are ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Actually finding a job
Assumed mental issues and other stereotypes made me feel like an alien returning to the civilian workforce. I felt pretty distant from most coworkers who aren’t vets, especially at first.
Really just didn’t understand what a flat org meant
early in my career, I relied solely upon my direct superior for direction which was a terrible strategy
I’ve never really struggled with this. But the one thing I still have a hard time with is how some people in the workforce that have never served, make comments about their rights as an American. I don’t mean to sound disrespectful, but that’s typically when I think of the people I served with. Those are the people we see on those Tunnel To Towers commercials. Inside I laugh because as far as I’m concerned, they’ve earned nothing.
Absolutely. I can assure you I agree without hesitation. I think your missing my point. Never mind. It’s not important
Working with overly liberal people. You just don't quite fit in. My first professional job I went to lunch with a few co workers and my VP. He said nameste at some point, and I just laughed in his face. I thought he was joking....
Overly one side or the other is the problem usually....
