Interviewer : Why do you need this job?
Me :

Bain & Company I’m a PhD student looking to start in consulting and am looking to connect with other PhD/ADP consultants that went into consulting to learn more about the experience and how to prep for case interviews coming from a non-business background. Especially looking for advice on McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group, and Bain & Company
Did 4 rounds of interviews. Last 2 with 2 partners at EY. Haven’t heard back even after 1 month. One partner even commented “you will be a good addition to the team”. Hiring manager gave EY email after her interview call with me.
Fast forward two weeks, no communication. Recruiting was surprised that I was still chasing for this position, month later. Got to know last week that hiring team was continuing to interview candidates. Should I drop the idea to get hired? EY hasn’t rejected me yet.

It seems that today's job market is very much tilted in the favor of employers. And companies know that, and candidates are not always treated with the respect they should receive. And beyond that, there just just a lot of ghost jobs being posted that companies have no intention of filling. It might be best to just haunt the careers section of company web sites and apply directly for positions posted there.
Facts
I mostly use indeed or LinkedIn when job hunting. Applying directly through the company website is usually a good move too. It’s very difficult out there right now even for very experienced and people with great resumes. Hope that you can keep trying and find something.
Sorry I meant to say get “ghosted like I’m back in high school”
I am in the same boat. I have been looking for weeks and can’t even get an interview schedule.
It’s definitely harder now to find real listings and serious employers. I’ve been looking for months and have yet to find anything legit.
Yep you are not alone OP as I have been experiencing the same thing. I have been looking for a new job for six months and have not had any luck. At this point I have started applying for entry level roles because I just need to find something.
I wonder if there’s a better search engine to use or if this is now the new norm that we are living in ?
I would suggest you post on Monster and CareerBuilder as well. If you are involved in healthcare IT, you should consider Dice as well. When I get phone calls I always ask them where they found me. And I found that helpful. And I get that across-the-board.
I demand higher pay 😂, tell them that I have 21 years in as CNA and do not accept lower pay for it.
They don't wanna hear this of course, so they tell me they interviewing more People this week, with other word " u are not on our Menu ", I am not worn in the Wood or burn yesterday ,🤣

It’s frustrating, right? Sometimes it feels like a popularity contest rather than skills-based hiring. For job searching, Indeed and LinkedIn are solid, but niche healthcare sites like Health eCareers or PracticeLink might have more focused opportunities. Networking in professional NP groups can also help cut through the noise and lead to better connections. Hang in there!
I agree. I’m guessing we are all just overqualified. I meet the requirements and the qualifications for these positions and I still don’t get a call and I have a degree.
I am struggling with ghosting too! I have an office manager reach out to me and ask for my availability to meet. I sent back to replies and have heard nothing. Would it be appropriate to call since I have her contact number?
What state are you looking for? What’s your education for? General, pediatric specialty?
