I’ve felt seriously burned out at my firm for a long time, and now during this point in the year I’ve reached a new level of struggle in terms of trying to be productive. A quick note about what I’ve experienced, in my decade long career, is the real advantage of MBB or FAANG - it gives you a shot at stretch roles that are outside your expertise. Not all the time or even most of the time compared to better candidates with specific experience for the role but gives you this wildcard shot at a vast array of opportunities.
