What are the ultimate consulting exit apps (I.e? specific role/team & industry) for the non-technical consultants? Looking to understand the exit opps available that: 1. Pay in line with MBB or exceeds (YOY raise is also in line with career and pay progression at MBB) 2. Have reasonable hours, at most 9-7 so I can pick up some hobbies and have a personal life 3. Have great global brand/prestige that will make me as desirable exiting consulting now vs exiting that company in the future
Is moving from MBB to FAANG non tech roles (strategy & ops) worth it? How is the career progression?
To all fishes that went from T2 to MBB - did you notice a big difference in quality, standards, people worked with, or anything else? Trying to understand why MBB is MBB beyond name-brand and prestige.
Significant other is active duty marine corps and while I have 10 years of experience, having a tough time “making the right moves” to climb the ranks in consulting due to needing to (or at least needing to be available to) relocate every few years. Anyone willing to chat? Looking to get into MBB if possible. Prior big 4 exp and worked across human capital, tech, and some S&O. Super hard working and quick learner. After your first job, how relevant is GPA. For context, I went to a school that is very well known for grade deflation (Deloitte had a “suggested” minimum of 3.2 here) and I studied statistics, a particularly rough major at the school. Long story short, GPA was between a 2.9 and 3.0. This wasn’t due to slacking and I’ve done well at Deloitte so far with plenty of experience to speak to. Would my GPA still block me from certain firms, like any of the MBB firms or a Tier 2 consulting firm?
Do MBB hire people who are on H4 EAD. Not specifically for consulting but for any roles.
Folks who moved from MBB to a top-tier tech firm (E.g. FAANG): how does the talent compare between the two?
Would anyone be willing to chat who made the jump from big 4 —> tech —> MBB? I did not have a great experience in tech and looking to pivot back into consulting. Went to a non-target undergrad but 10 YOE at good firms.
MBB experienced hires, how long did it take you to make the switch (from start of networking to final offer)? How long did your interview prep take you?
Plan to go to B-school in 3 years (1 year out of UG now). Long term goal is entrepreneurship. Have offers at a MBB firm for a generalist consultant role and at FAANG for a strategy role. FAANG offer is slightly higher (though both are a 50+% bump on my current comp). Both would have me reset to entry level. Which one should I take?
Do you think it’s better to go to immediately go a firm that’s beyond your skillset or work your way up to that firm? For example, going to a T2 firm as an experienced hire having never done consulting without or starting at a smaller consulting firm and then going to T2/MBB?
About to start the interview process. I need to practice my maths before going through the online screens. Does anyone have any feedback what the MBB screens look like and what are some online resources I can use to practice doing the math problems?
Are any of MBB firms part of US Chamber of Commerce? US Chamber of Commerce was one of the plaintiffs which won the H1B ban lawsuit, so I am trying to determine if the H1B ban applies to MBB or not.
Any recommendations on consulting firms that work with lower middle market pe firms? Mbb, big 4 rates are too expensive so most likely looking for boutiques
LEK🐠, how different is our casework (pack creation / iteration, model approaches, expert interview formats) compared to MBB? If it’s fairly similar, I’d turn down the MBB offer I have to pivot into tech. If MBB gives a new consulting experience, I’d accept. Generalist path. TIA🙌🏼 L.E.K. Best places for good WLB and decent salary. Coming out of MBB and I’m aiming for $100k-$120k but really a 9-5. Big banks seem like a good place in Toronto but it sounds like it varies greatly by team. Hoping to get a more specific answer
Are people who get sponsored for MBA by MBB expected to return post-MBA? Can you intern at a non-consulting company during your summer internship? Do you burn bridges if you do not return to MBB?
Is anyone an Art Director at Away — the luggage brand? If so, can you please DM me? I have a question regarding fair salary! Thanks so much! :)
Has anyone taken lessons at GolfTEC or a golf store (golf galaxy, pga superstore)? I typically play in the mid 80s but can’t get into the 70s. Looking for lessons to improve and get a little more consistent.
I am a L10 working in the SAP space within CDO at Accenture. I have been at the firm for a little over 7 months and would like to know come the next promotion cycle how I could switch from CDO to C&M.
Roth IRA and 401k currently all in 2060 target date fund. Should I exchange for all VTWAX or keep in TDF? I’m 23 (VTWAX expense ratio: .10%, TDF is .15%)
So how do you feel the consulting life is impacting your wellness as you hop over the age of 40, I’m finding under Covid I’m much more healthy/lost weight etc.
That's Quarantine Baby !
Would anyone that has moved from Big 4 to MBB be willing to chat for 15-30 minutes? I’m hitting a point where I am enjoying consulting (advisory) but I’m not sure the idea of narrowing in on a specific industry and exact skillset appeals to me. Seems like MBB is broader and I’m curious (also not assuming I could even get in, but I want to explore the option).
Feeling like my firm has a very outdated parental leave policy (and none of the women partners have children)! What is the parental leave policy at your firm? Please include: (1) size of firm; (2) location of firm (city, state); (3) how many paid weeks off from firm (not state/fed benefits); (4) other policies such as ramp up/down time, etc.
Has anyone done an overseas shoot during covid? I may have one coming up and my partner is very nervous and doesn’t want to do it. Curious how everyone feels about this and if it’s possible to do it safely.
Turning off all Good notifications and alerts on my cellphone. If you need me, I'll be on vacation. Peace ✌🏻
Why is every Designer that I’ve ever worked with that love grid systems so into techno music and rave culture?
anyone here in the PwC Bay Area Risk Assurance (Business Continuity) practice? How is the team and the culture?
What are some good questions to ask in a screener interview for in-house positions? Are salary/benefits questions appropriate at this stage?
28yo single male, no debt, 110k income, LCOL (Dallas). I've been living fairly frugally, maxing out 401k and reached 170k NW. I kind of want to splurge on a LUXURY ($2,100/mo) apartment. It's an amazing place, high rise, 20th floor, large balcony, floor to ceiling windows, loft style in the middle of the nicest part in Dallas 🥰😍 1) would my application even get approved due to my income? 2) is this too much? Open to all opinions! TiA!
I just quit watching the Olympics 2day :( I've been following since Athens 2004 and I started liking some not so common sports like fencing and taekwondo (started trying fencing but covid hit, sadly - been out ever since). But I really loved surf, since Kevin Slatter - I never had the talent to it, but still try sometimes LOL. But the match fixing today btw Medina and Igarashi was ABSURD - real shame. What a frustration - took out all my excitement.
Any suggestions for classroom management? I push in and pull out - when I push in to the classroom the kids are well behaved.. it’s when I pull them out is when they start to get all silly!
