Some asset management companies/investment management companies only hire MBA's from prestigious graduate programs, CFA's and in some instances, only PHD's. I worked for a small asset management firm many years ago and all of the analyst's had advanced degrees. Many had PHD's from prestigious firms. This was a company in Boston where you have many well-educated candidates who graduated from some of the best colleges in the country.
