How serious are the independence/investment declarations while joining Big4’s in the U.K.
My parents have a couple of minor investments in the stock market. Do I have to include my parents investments even if they are citizens of another country and invest only within that country?

For those using voyager, does it take a really long time for deposits to settle? It's been like 1.5 weeks, my cash has been taken out of my bank account a while ago, but voyager still has all my deposits as pending.

I can still trade with the pending deposit, but I'm just wondering since I'll eventually withdraw some.

Is 50k enough to live in London?

1099 or w-2 ? I have been given the option though the company prefers w-2. It’s a day rate booking couple of months or more (no end date). I already have 1099 from similar company this year and am leaning towards 1099, but I don’t want to be difficult. I do take home office deduction and they are not supplying any equipment. First question is it advantageous to have the top of the organization 50/50 partners own the r/e company as an s-corp? That 50/50 company then owns 70% of holding company they own all the real estate as a partnership that the original partners are 35/35 and the investors own the remainder. My investing strategy is just to DCA into an S&P 500 index fund and keep buying and holding. If I understand correctly, the sole disadvantage this has compared to a tax sheltered retirement account is that the quarterly dividends will be taxed? But even so, they’ll be taxed at a lower qualified dividend rate since I’m automatically reinvesting those dividends.

Probably a stupid question for most of you, so apologies: if I invest $10k in stocks/bonds combo, make $400 profit, and decide to withdraw 10k after 4 months. Do I pay taxes on that or taxes kick in once I go above the amount of $ I invested?
