Fired or laid off? I feel like there's a big difference. Laying off 25% of HR isn't the worst thing in the world. Saying HR is a group dedicated to people is a wild take haha

it wasnt all HR though. People and places encompassed a lot of role types.
the framing of dumb dumber / smart smarter isn't quite right though. what's happening is companies are cutting roles they think AI can absorb, but the people-facing judgment stuff -- context, empathy, navigating ambiguity -- is exactly where AI falls short. the gap isn't intelligence, it's skill type.
