Is Nagarro good to join? I have a fully remote opportunity which I'm pretty sure I can crack. Is the pay and benefits good at Nagarro? Do they provide laptop and test devices or will I have to work on my laptop? Do they give medical insurance etc? What if the project gets over. Do they have enough projects or will I be asked to move to a different technology? Will I be fired if on bench? Nagarro
Anyone around who I can vent to?

What you're describing is essentially what happened in the 1930s with the New Deal. Since the 1980s the trend has been against worker protections, and that's probably not going to change anytime soon. You make a good point, things may be getting worse.
There’s been so much optimism around tech and AI rapid advancements. Discussion about what we’ll be able to do with all the time saved—supposedly for all the “important” thinking, idea, creative work. It’s beginning to sound like utter BS.
Because we’re already being shut out of the job market—our thinking, idea and creative abilities aren’t valued much now. So why will those human skills have value going forward as AI gets even better at mimicking humans.
We’ve all been sold on a lie, meant to remove expensive human labor in favor of bots, machines, sophisticated tech that can do everything faster than humans can.
The advancements were exciting, when we could see ourselves being part of the revolution, but increasingly it seems we’re being completely squeezed out.
In the US, we no longer have a government: for the people by the people of the people. We are only pockets of supporters and the like-minded. Pay attention to tech. Every resume and cover should highlight how you use it. Every interview you have should promote it. Don't worry; act.
Unfortunately, especially when there are vested interests in the midst, the clouds ain’t gonna part with the hand of the Fed swooping in and protecting us from the unkind ravages of AI and the wealthy tech barons.
IMO what has been required in our industry (industries?) for quite some time now is collective organization. Sadly, for the most part, our attitudes have been that if I get a couple of awards and if I fill my portfolio up with stints at X agency or Y firm or Z client everything will be just dandy.
I'm curious to see how the government thinks that this is a sustainable situation. If what everybody is saying is true and we are all about to be out on the streets, so to speak, how is that realistically going to affect our country? The world?
The govt can only react they won’t do nothing before it’s too late
And how about bringing apprenticeships programs back for upskilling in AI? Ones geared toward specific industry needs?
So much has been cut in the federal space, but that’s a smart one to fund in the national (and US workers’) interests!
I'm trying to find companies that don't use AI or countries with better worker protection. I feel like we're headed to being on the street in droves and we're not seeing it.
