I didn’t take any - but I would think as long as you don’t have serious complications that should be fine.
I would suggest 2 months prior to your due date. There are a lot of babies born weeks 36-40. You don’t want to go into labor and be freaking out about how you never got to take a class.
I took mine at week 27
Second trimester or first month of 3rd. You’ll have the energy and time to think about things after the classes. Our village birth had a total of 5 classes that we did in the span of 2 months. Lot of fun, informative and we made friends with some of the other attendees. Los are now 18m and they’re signing up for soccer together soon.
Good luck 🍀
Definitely recommend a little sooner. As someone else mentioned, 2 months earlier (even 3) may be better as baby can come early. I waited till 35 weeks and started early labor after my first session. We were able to slow things down, but the last month of my pregnancy became stressful. I wish I had more time to really review everything we went through in the class and to work on my birth plan. Not to mention time to go through the supplemental resources provided after the class.
Good luck!
I aimed to finish all my classes a month before my due date (at the recommendation of my provider), so I started almost 2 months before my due date and it worked out well for me.
