I’m working with a financial education startup that is looking for an animator or team of animators that can produce 10-20 2Danimated explainer-videos (possibly a lot more in the future). 60-90seconds in length each.
They want to prioritize comprehension (function>fashion), with just a bit more style than what you can see of their past videos on their front page: https://learnfinlit.com/

If the company policy has changed, then everyone should benefit.
If it was a negotiating point for the person (people) after you, they may not honor it.
Yes! Especially as a senior finance manager you should be getting way more than 2 weeks!
They probably negotiated it in their offer letter - I’ve done that before and it trumps policy. In my last gig I didn’t negotiate extra vacay time and even got an internal offer and rejected it and asked for the extra week in return and they told me to wait my 5 yrs ugh
You should have negotiated at hire; which is likely what they did.
You can try now but it’s unlikely to be honored.
They also did not negotiate it - it was part of their entities practice. However, we have since integrated
For background - no it wasn’t part of their negotiations. Different entities within the company had different policies. Now we have integrated.
You can bring it up, but ask for a “market adjustment” and bring up the points of PTO being 3 weeks for most, while you were hired with 2 weeks. A lot of times, companies change the compensation structure and new employees benefit, while current employees are not brought into that change.
Hi!
Before talking to my manager, I would re-check the source of that information and how true it is. Misunderstandings happen :)
Then and if true, I would have a chat with my manager and say something along the lines of “it sounds like there has been some change when it comes to the PTO policy? Apparently it’s not 2 weeks to start off with anymore but 3? That sounds great! How does that apply to me?”
All the best!
They negotiated better than you did. You have to ask for that stuff up front. Same with salary. You can’t get upset when someone else negotiates their worth harder than you did.
They could be getting more because they negotiated that time when they were hired.
