GT people, how unlimited is your unlimited vacation? Or is it more like limited vacation compared to a formal PTO policy. I am thinking it has to be harder to take vacation now than it used to

The worst thing about unlimited pto is that you dont accrue any, meaning if yoy leave you dont get paid out your unised time, which sucks

like

What sounds better: I'm taking every Friday off in June July with pto that I've accrued or I'm taking every Friday off for the next two months because I have unlimited pto. Firms know this, hate paying out PTO to those who leave, and don't like having accrued pto sit on their books. It's a scam.

like

That's a fun new take - all of the PA employees are guilty of scamming the firm out of money... poor PA firms

like

I took 4 weeks off last year outside of holidays and the week of Christmas we get. This year they're trying to push accountability for making your yearly charge hour goals, but it's not going to stop me from taking another 4 weeks this year.

like

Like most places that have unlimited pto/vacation, you dont take much of it

It's a scam on the employees, not the firm.

Big picture: its about the same. I don't go on anymore vacations than I did previously.

Where it differs is on slow or days preceding national holidays. I'm able to take more half days when things are slow.

Yea it does suck that you don't accrue the days for a future payoff later, but they did pay everyone out of the days they already had in the bank. (Was somewhat bullshit tho because senior management got the nod before the policy change and I know of at least 1 guy who was able to bank is max PTO allocation before the policy was officially announced.)

Emotionally, it's a little more stressful when requesting days off because unlike in the past, they aren't technically days you've "earned." Like, before I could schedule a week off without a moments hesitation because I they were owed to me. Now, I have to be cognizant of the days I've already taken off as well as how my PTO compares to my peers.

Overall, it's really not that different. You're still expected to meet utilization and other performance metrics, so abuse of the policy doesn't happen.

Unlimited vacation is a scam. It's just an excuse to not pay it out. Fun fact of the day.

Anyone hiring those who have been out of work for a year? I took time off to tend to personal matters, but I am now looking to get back into the workforce again. My previous experience includes time at B4 audit up to senior level and then transitioned to manager in industry. Senior/manager roles are preferred.

I don’t mind audit. However, I’d prefer it not to be at a B4, as I am looking for some semblance of a work life balance.

DM me if you have something above, thanks.

What are the leaves policies in Accenture we have ? Can anyone share the leave calendar for this year in Accenture

Hello, I worked 1 year as a 'Senior Data Engineer' at 110k base. I then was offered and accepted a role as 'Service Manager' at 155k base where I worked another year. Just recently accepted a 'Data Engineer' job at 155k base but with a larger company (in theory with potential to grow).

I am a Google Certified Professional Data Engineer.

Should I be earning more?

Would I earn more long term if I stayed on as Service Manager?
