Hello 🐟🎏
When will be the retention bonus will be paid if a candidate joined TCS in the middle of the financial year. I.e September'22... Will that be paid on next year's September'23 Month only after completing an year in TCS?
And will the Retention bonus will also be considered as taxable income of the the current year taxes(2022-23)?
Looking for valuable suggestions!!!

Selected in a Big4 firm and one MNC shortlisting is going on, hopefully will be selected within 7-8 days. The MNC will be offering good package, but Big4 is just giving 20% hike in my salary and waiting for my decision to say yes or no,to proceed further with offer letter. Query :1. If I say yes to the Big4, and when they issue the offer letter, and then I reject, can they blacklist me. 2. Also if accept the offer and say no, in that case can they blacklist me from their firm.EY Deloitte KPMG PwC

Second VP1.
Depends on what you define as your profession as a data scientist. I’m not in python and R anymore; as I spend all my time on deliverables and client engagement and TPM. I demand 180 minimum due to the skillsets, YoE, and other variables.
That will only increase rapidly depending on my profession which is now focused in BD bridging what data science can do for clients.
Not anymore, I joined consulting this year. But let’s chat anyway.
500-700K at big tech places for IC roles. I think quant finance can pay even more than that.
After that it’s really in your best interest to switch to leadership roles like Director and above if you wanna crack 1-10 million.
Also keep in mind comp only goes up. 3 years ago 400K was considered upper end. Today it’s just a regular Senior DS offer at many tech companies
Yes my numbers are for SF primarily. With how remote work is becoming the norm expect high end offers becoming common from Bay Area tech companies hiring in low cost places too. Not 400K but I can definitely see 300K in Texas or Florida
Anyone that doesn't do general management will pretty much top out at mid management levels. That's cause top of any field is about strategic use of a skill, and not actually performing the skill.
I think OP is more interested in what salaries can an individual contributer earn in as an actual “data scientist”. Let’s assume a role where data science is the product ie data robot, data bricks etc, I think those guys can get 150-200 base with just as much in RSUs. If you’re talking about “data science” in BI, where you’re really just assisting with reporting/forecasting, I think ICs top out at more like 125 with either 20-30% in bonus or RSU depending on company comp model. DS does not pay as well as consulting or software in my experience, unless you can get into a hedge fund
That's fair sc1, also it really really varies per firm agreed levels.fyi and blind are likely better resources than Fishbowl.

Clearly not a data scientist
Would second that ICs could make up to 400.
Check out what any F100 VP+ makes. I used to be a data scientist. Now I'm a strategy exec. Can tell you it tops out differently

Microsoft with pay 150-185 specific to “data scientists” depending on YoE base. Then there’s other considerations in TC.
What a phenomenal question. Following
