Not sure if OP like to be quiet, just want to point out the pool area tend to get crowded and loud during summer times (also top floor is great until summer months when it’s HOT outside)
Do you have any pets? What’s the parking situation?
To me, I need to think about when my dog needs to go potty and when I’m bringing in groceries.
attached parking garage for both properties, break ins occur but that’s just a houston thing, no pets!
You’d want to be saving aggressively to buy when the right situation comes along - whatever that may be for your life & however unexpected.
Do you think the rent is high for OP’s salary?
If it’s a midrise, make sure to consider hearing your neighbors who are above you.. most annoying thing at my apartment now. I’m on 5th floor out of 7 and I hear the person above me at the worst hours.
You can ask. Guarantee the property manager knows.
Lower heights apartments are normally happening places, you can find the party anywhere but I would want a peaceful retreat to escape to. Better amenities + not hearing drunk idiots at the pool at 2am sounds like a win to me.
That’s what I’m saying, both apartments will be popular spots I’d pick the one less noisy and peaceful (seemed like option 2 was)
What EY1 said. Apartment 2 is the choice I would make. Major reason: Its not on top floor. When I was staying at a Houston native’s airbnb while searching apts - she specifically said don’t take top floor. The ac bills gets considerably higher during summer.
I’ve got a 2200 sq ft townhouse that I lease in the heights for less than that. I need to reevaluate 🤔
I'll make a competitive bid for it lol
