No one cares about certificate courses. Save yourself the money and watch YouTube or get a book.

like

YouTube courses really rarely go deep in a topic and approach it from an "industry-level" standard. Books are better. Certified courses too.

Only if you put it on your linkedin. LOL

Only do it if the firm covers tuition. I got the Wharton one and wouldn’t pay out of pocket for it.

Has anyone left big 4 or other PA firms tax transaction service groups for industry (or know of anyone)? What was the role and salary bump, how are annual bonuses/raises in industry, what is a typical work week (hours) like? I don’t think I can take this always on just to stay afloat life much longer. For context I am considered a high performer, am near the top of the salary band at my level and have a great supporting network at Deloitte. It’s just not worth it to have zero personal life.

I’ve recently started work at a very young tech startup. Coming from a big law background, this was a huge change of pace/environment. I’m having a lot of trouble getting used to how unstructured the startup is. It feels like hire ups give a set of instructions then talk as if they don’t remember, or then decided rules A, B, C and D applies without being clear this was the case. Is this just the general startup environment? If you experienced this before, how did you deal with It?
