I spoke with a recruiter recently about a position in her company and before we even began talking about the job, she asked if I needed an sponsorship, I told her no, I dont need one. But she continued to press on the subject until I had to tell her I was a US citizen. I dont know why, but the whole conversation made me extremely uncomfortable. So my question is, can recruiters ask you about your visa/immigration status even when I told her I didnt need a sponsorship??

Email stated to reach out to another recruiter for immediate assistance so I did. I emailed her , she said these offers do take some days because of the Hr and HM has to sign it.
