Why are holding company agencies still so intertwined with the AICP? Doesn’t the “I” stand for independent?

Feels like the lines have blurred. Holding companies now own or operate production arms, sometimes competing directly with the independents the AICP was built to support.

At a certain point, you have to ask—are they collaborators in the ecosystem, or shaping it to their advantage?

They mentioned base salary with commission, as they want to see growth in the next 3-5 years. There has been no talk of salary yet. What does a base salary for an EP with commission usually look like in this role? What should I be asking for?
