Money and bad press are powerful motives.
Celebrities often appear to be immune to their crimes, but that isn't the case. While it may seem like they can get away with things that other people wouldn't, the fact is that they are held accountable for their actions just as much as anyone else would be. The difference is in how they are punished and how those punishments are enforced.
They tend to have access to more resources than average citizens, which can lead to reduced sentences or lighter penalties for similar offenses. Also a lot of influence and can use their platform to make sure that their case is heard publicly and that any negative press about them is downplayed.
They can pay fines, lawyers’ fees, or bail money more quickly than most people, which can result in lesser charges being filed or dropped altogether.
Some criminal cases are not taken as seriously if they involve a celebrity. This can lead to leniency from judges or prosecutors who view the crimes committed by celebrities as less severe than those committed by everyday people.
