Why do firms not give referral bonuses for post-clerkship candidates? If anything, they’re generally more competitive. Unfortunately was told it’s standard practice

I'm guessing it's because they'll already be giving a clerkship bonus and there's only so much money they're willing to give for someone who's never done firm work before.

I received a referral bonus for referring a friend coming off a clerkship. Your firm's must be cheap.

Split it 50/50 and voila, OP gets a referral bonus!

Looking for some advice on a couple of offers I have.

The first offer is for an Account Executive position at a smaller company with a base of $50k and another $20k in OTE.

The second offer is for a BDR position at a larger and faster growing company with a base of $60k and another $20k in OTE. Also some stock options but they aren’t public yet.

I have 2 YOE as a BDR and think I could succeed in either position. Both have hybrid work set ups. Any thoughts or advice is appreciated! Thanks.

Hi Fishes,

I have given my interview in HCL and cleared 1 TP, 1 hcl manager & Client TP and Client Manager rounds .
In initial screening HR told the generic statement of 30-40% and I have given my ask as 50% minimum. After clearing the rounds I heard from the project team that Client has given great feedback and wanted to take me in .
What is the % I can ask in HR Discussion and will they reject in HR if I ask more now .
I have 9.5 years total experience and role is Storage Architect.
Thanks
