Why does every single doctor in America push so hard for wisdom teeth removal? It’s not even a thing in a lot of the foreign/eastern countries.

You must be in the UK. Is there a single dentist on that Island?

I have mine. I’ve only heard of people having them removed if they are having issues.

this is the best answer. if wisdom teeth causes issues then they are good candidates to remove. If removing wisdom teeth was very important I wonder how did people survive till about 100 years back.

Most people have issues when they grow in that are more expensive to resolve than if you just remove them before they are fully grown in

This.. its similar to male circumcision forced on baby boys - ofcourse you can decline but mostly its recommended. there is no real benefit but hospitals and doctors can bill the insurance so its an income stream as well.

I had 4 impacted, and 4 removed. It’s significantly reduced my crowding. Some people like having straighter teeth.

Mine didn't - I'm 38 and have all 4.

They are generally removed because they often become impacted and caused teeth crowding, especially in the developed world, but that is not the root cause. That is primarily based on diet, especially in an early childhood.

We need to be eating more natural, raw foods, especially early in life. In the developed world, kids go from formula to soft baby food, and then mostly stick with soft, ultra-processed foods and a lot of liquid calories.

The issue is that this actually changes how we chew and swallow. Eating tougher, more natural foods helps build up your jaw muscles (masseters) and encourages a swallowing pattern where your tongue presses against the roof of your mouth. Over time, that helps develop wider dental arches and creates more space in the mouth, like enough room for wisdom teeth.

But if you grow up mostly eating soft foods and drinking your calories (plus using bottles and straws), your jaw muscles don’t develop the same way. Your tongue posture can change, and your arches tend to be narrower.

That also affects facial structure, which is part of why things like overbites and recessed lower jaws seem to be more common in the developed world.
