A few shops I worked at had that, but it was hard to get honest feedback because of the fear of retaliation.
The answer is self preservation.
Similar to "Why don't members of Congress have term limits?" The people who would have to propose and approve the policy are the same ones it could hurt.
Good Creative Directors will ask their team for honest feedback on not only their leadership skills but also their design, process development, and the like.
Rare to have a 360 review in the midst of the work.
Me and many others would have so much to say. They know it and that’s why.
We def do, my bi annual review is usually a mix of my direct reports, my ECD and adjacent dept leads… it’s so important to understand how your team is receiving your leadership in an anonymous setting where they feel free to be honest

I know that in some in-house creative departments they do have this.
I got asked to review the ECD once. Later found out he knew it was me that gave the review which made things pretty awkward.
I'm freelance now, but in my past roles as a CD, I always had my team submit 360 evaluations of me at review time. They were pretty honest and I appreciated the feedback, good and bad. I hate reviews in general, but the feedback from my team was the one part of the process that actually meant something to me. Everyone has room to grow. Especially those who are running teams.
We do. I found out my team likes me and hates my partner. That made me feel good.
Have you ever done a “360” review? These are very common.
Yep and I’ve written over a dozen peer reviews, never one for anyone in a managerial role
We do
We definitely do. Every year, from creative teams, account and strategy partners.

We do.
Worked in two practices where we had anonymous reviews from creative team colleagues - and that worked well. Having said that, I would ask for 1-1 feedback during projects, when appropriate, as it’s great to keep learning. I think that if/when you decide you’re the finished article or beyond learning, it’s over…
They’re supposed to in their annual review
