Thinking of leaving audit after my second busy season . My main interest in accounting was always the forensic line but got recruited for audit. Now I feel this is the best time to transition. Any advice for someone who wants to start with CPE route instead of CPA (did it a couple of time and did not pass) seeing it as a sign to go for my main interest. Also do I look for position as senior or just Associate. PwC EY KPMG Deloitte

Boundaries, but the sad part is if you set them, you can expect your promotion and view of performance levels to likely be skewed by managers who think you are just a clock in and out person
You’re not going to change the industry or the need for urgency. You can change how you react to that urgency.
There are a lot of answers here, but I think it boils down to controlling how you react. It sounds like you jump at every email like your life depends on it. Try to take a step back, breathe, and then decide whether to jump right in or schedule your reaction around your priorities.
Set boundaries and expectations
I always verify priority, or say something like, "I also have X Y and Z on my plate, how would you like me to prioritize?" It helps me and the other person think it through a bit.
I think this is more of a systemic issue rather than a KPMG one. Due to the rise of smart phones we are now accustomed to getting things instantly and quickly. I hate how this has become the norm but you should do whatever you feel is right.
I think society itself has brought this on. In other societies, they don't value work as much as we do. They even close for nap time or breaktime.

Asking for timing. I find myself assuming everything is urgent until I ask “how soon do you need this?”
