I’ve been trying to get into the top tier Associate Product Marketing Manager position Google for some time now for just an interview and I feel like business majors somehow have such a stronger chance in getting interviewed especially my business school and I feel really discouraged as an Econ Major and I have a lot of marketing experience that I’ve built over the years. Are there any non-business majors in the tech realm in non technical positions at Google that can advise me?
Ok be honest, candidates. I really love this set of questions, I’ve been considering shifting my current interview style to these questions - I think they really give you an idea of who this person would be within the work setting. But the questions almost feel too deep for a recruiter to ask. What would you think if a recruiter took a different path and asked these questions instead of the usual ones?

You are not alone. Chin up, say a prayer, press on, keep moving forward! Something great is in store for you!
Yes I agree its happening to me too as I was laid off since Dec 2023 and still looking with over 20 years of medical billing experience.
Same here but in application for walmart and some cleaning company haven't hear anything yet
You're definitely not alone because I am going through the same thing as you. This job market is way beyond horrible because recruiters and hiring managers are not interested in hiring anybody. The only thing recruiters and hiring managers are doing is making up BS excuses by saying that employees don't want to work and that's not true. The plain and simple truth is that recruiters and hiring managers don't know what they want because they are too focused on finding the "perfect job candidate" and sadly no such person exists. Recruiters and hiring managers have very high and very unrealistic expectations because they are just not satisfied with what they already have. They're very nit-picky and will just reject anyone who doesn't fit their criteria. They need to stop being so nit-picky and they need to stop playing games with us job seekers. They're not helping us job seekers. All they're doing is wasting our time
Agree
It's at all levels and professions. They look for the person who'll take the lowest salary regardless of experience.
Your right! More money for the company, and management gets bonuses.
The job market right now is just not great. So don't be too hard on yourself, it's not just you. A lot of companies are just going through the motions and not really doing much hiring. And it's very much an employer's market, they can just reject almost anyone.
Ageism and lack of wanting to pay for experience.
It’s not you !
Look into traveling CNA agencies. Sometimes they pay higher salaries while finding you employment locally and they will hire you based on your experience,
Thank you I will give it a try
Try asking for feedback if you think it's appropriate. Maybe they can tell you something that will help you on your next application. Good luck!
I have ask for a feedback.. the feedback that I got was this we only had a few spot to fill and even though we were impressed with your resume and work history we feel that at this time you aren't the right fit but please fill free to apply to our other job posting
You are not alone I have 20+ years and I'm not getting paid no where nere what I deserve
It’s horrible it took me 4 months to find a job and it’s because the other places don’t want to pay for you experience so they’d rather hirer someone with less experience
OP I swear it is this job market because I have been having the same exact problem. I was laid off six months ago and I have good interviews and I still can't land a role. I think these jobs are just so competitive right now that it has become a numbers game sadly.
Yes, all the time with same credentials wanted in the job description with 30 years experience .
omg same
I have this problem with my job's interview.
This is something I'm experiencing. I have what companies are asking, Work Experience, Education, and the work-related people skills that jobs are asking for. After applying with my resume or accepting an interview, I later get the professional statements employers give, (we've moved on to other candidates), etc. Yes this is happening to me. It's a true fact that looking for a good job is (A Job): within it's self. But as stated above achieving the same professional statement, This can be both frustrating and upsetting alone with the weeks, or months of time that passes and I'm finding myself "still" unemployed. What am I doing wrong.
Start your own business!
They can't afford you. If someone will do the job and except less they will hire them. Most of us already know healthcare is all about how much money they can make not always about the quality of care. Don't give up keep applying to positions as a CNA you can also look at registration and coordinating positions because you have that underneath your certification as well. Those positions usually start off around 20 an hour depending on where you live
Another thing I don’t understand; why companies post a job without posting the wage they go pay for the open position?
It’s a waste of our time. Sometimes we drive far away for a job interview and even in the interview, they not mention the salary, we need to ask. Why this?
No I live In a large city in michigan and there is at least 5 other city's that are close to me
I’m sure your not the only one. Don’t get upset and keep working at it. Look at interview questions and answers. Have a friend role play with you.
trust me its happened to me too and i have almost 30 years of experience smh
I am employed but may salary is a slavering salary. Too much work for Pennie’s. I send tons of applications and got some interviews, but none yet passed to the next level. The companies want you to work free basically. They ask what your salary desire? But cut you off from there when you give your honest answer.
