I got 12 weeks in the US

likeuplifting

Incredible OW1! I get 2 weeks :( please let me know if you’re hiring/happy to refer 😄

Correcting my last comment, the official one is: 8 weeks of paternity leave + 1 paid day off per week for the following 8 weeks.

Some offices may Extend that 8 initial weeks up to 26 weeks, but you would need to check with the office you're going

like

Also if you have specific benefit questions ask your recruiter. There are things that are specific to OW outside of MMC.

like

Now that I re-looked at it. I got the extra 4 weeks because of a NY-specific paid family leave scheme. So I think it’s 8 weeks baseline in the US, plus anything local, plus the transition time that OW2 referenced.

What market are you in? Our policies vary by market. Also in many markets general parental leave (paternity, adoption) differs from leave for the birth parent, so clarifying that will help get an accurate answer as well

OW2 has the right policy above! 8 weeks plus a day a week off for your first 8 weeks back

FYI Bain, BCG, and McK all have better policies.

Ours is okay. Should be better.

Any chance they will be updating it anytime soon?

I got an email last night from a 7th-grade parent because her son said I mentioned the words "male privilege" in class, and she is very concerned about how that is related to ELA (she said "reading"), and she is concerned about this being taught in public schools. To be clear, I didn't do a lesson on this subject but we did discuss rights versus privileges. I've had multiple parents contact the school/get upset with me because of things like his. It's exhausting... Thoughts?

Out of curiosity. How would a company view a potential candidate who has a period of unemployment to study for the CPA. I am considering to start studying for the exam but I know I would need to leave my employer in order to give 110%. I am contemplating the idea of at least passing one part while employed. Then leaving my employer to study FAR. I am considering to leave my current employer anyways, so it’s more of how my future employer would view that lapse.
