Wife is gone for the weekend, left me with 2 kids. What should I do to pass the time? Boys are 6 and 7

Cook some simple stuff together that they like eg pancakes or mac and cheese. I totally know what you mean about being stuck with the kids while wife is away, but try to remind myself how rare this time is and really lean in. Helps if you leave your phone in another room :)

For a man when the wife is away provides an opportunity to experience being the sole giver of care and can change your relationship to yourself and the kids, rather than view it as just passing the time.

35F divorced with a kid. I think I will never get remarried or in a serious relationship again. Lots of men don't like dating women with children. Many with kids live on the same street as their ex wives so they can be close to their child. I'm not comfortable dating guys like that. On the flip side there are the ones that were never married, which by this age cont

Getting over heartbreak and having a full time job is torture lol. My boyfriend and I just broke up after almost a year of being together. It was such a beautiful relationship but ultimately he just didn’t love me. I love him so much. My mind knows that I deserve reciprocal love and I’m worthy, but I feel physically ill. My body hurts, my stomach is in knots, my head hurts. How is it that I have to mend a broken heart but also meet my billable hours lmao

Questions about job hopping-
My average tenure at a company is ~1.5 years (with ~11 YOE), but each jump I've made has yielded progressive/tangible career growth.

I'm concerned after my most recent jump (went from a product director to a head of product position at a different, smaller company after only a year) that I've kind of poisoned future career prospects at larger companies.

Any insights on whether this type of job hopping is a complete deal breaker for potential HMs?

I’ve done PI work my entire career for over 10 years. I’ve worked in state and federal courts and I’ve traveled around the country doing MDL work and bellwether trials. I’ve had a lot of success making the idiots I’ve worked for wealthy, but I’m still waiting for a moment where I enjoy what I’m doing. I feel stuck working in dysfunctional plaintiff firms/cultures. I hate this profession/career more and more each year. Has anybody been successful breaking off on their own in recent years? Advice?
