Physically and emotionally draining coast to coast project and getting some health issues. Only been on project for a month, will i be able to leave and be okay finding another project?
Looking to leave agency world and go client side in marketing/consumer insights/brand strategy. 5+ yrs strat experience agency side and did some brand mgt for a startup as well. Any tips or advice from those who’ve made the jump? Is there client-side appetite for agency people or brand strat opportunities on the other side?
Any tips for someone who discounts good feedback but heavily focuses on the opportunities to improve? So much that I have a fear of getting fired despite receiving overall good feedback. I started a new job earlier this year. The function of the role and industry is new to me. My manager told me he generally has higher expectations than the rest of the organization. Originally, I viewed this as a great learning opportunity but can't help to think I'm not cut out for this and fear the worst.
What are the best virtual tools for CM? I've used intuition and visual assessment prior to COVID. Now we find we need to more trust on how the client views the change needed (or not recognizing the need).
The manager on my project likes to ask another more junior woman do some "admin" stuff, such as book meetings, take notes, and even book his flight!! I really want to help this junior woman not do the admin stuff that much. What can I do?
It’s restructuring season. KPMG, GT, and other firms have begun announcing layoffs. Everyone should take some time to polish off their resume. It’s a cold world out there and loyalty means nothing to your employer. Here’s to hoping that everyone lands on their feet and I’ll see y’all in a happier future.
How are people "networking" now that we are wfh? I mean, you are barely even aware if people still work in the same company. Previously, you at least saw them every now and then at the office but now... They could have fired half the company and I wouldn't know
A flat fee project contract is currently about a month over the expected end date, and it’s still going. Is it reasonable to ask for the remaining balance now vs end of project which was what was agreed upon?
Any tips on starting a side project to boost my chance of getting hired as a PM without technical experience?
For UX/UI designers. When a client is looking to redo their website what is your process like? Lately I’ve been working on a lot of UX web projects but haven’t been getting the full project brief. When we get a client asking for a redesign we’ll have a kick off call to help us understand the client objectives and goals. From there I’m usually the one to audit their current site and see what’s working and what can be better optimized. we also think through the site navigation. But is this enough?
Messaging a partner from two projects ago as I’m on the bench. Is it okay to ask for proposal work or if there are project needs? Not sure what I “can” ask for
I got hired as a freelancer on a project. 2 days in and we’re off to a slow start getting access to what I need. It’s paid hourly. I blocked out time to work a full day knowing I’d dive right in but that’s not how it turned out. My question is do I bill the full day even though I only put in a few hours of kick off calls and contacting folks to get access to the things I need? It’s not my fault they were disorganized. What would you do?
Can we get more information regarding ET layoffs? I don't think we have enough info here, need more. Have friends at EY, concerned for them.
I was due for a promotion but then covid hit, and during the peak of layoffs/furloughs, I was given the run-around that we have agency wide promotion freezes, etc. Over the past month, a handful of people have been promoted. I know everyone's situation is different but I can't help feeling snubbed. How do I know whether they are genuinely trying to promote me and can't, versus them stringing me along for as long as possible? I dont want it to come to having to bring another offer to the table..
All this news of layoffs is so depressing. I’m blaming holding company greed. This forces agencies to be ruthless and squeeze employees until they are in the brink of nervous breakdowns.
Planning to move to LA soon. Will be attending dance classes in west coast dance theatre (WDT) over the weekends and fly out on Monday’s to client location. Looking for a place between LAX and WDT.
Would you get fired if you edit your department partners’ picture and send it to your colleague?
So today I walked into the client site and realized I left my laptop at home. Mind you my commute is around 60min one way. Let's just say, I've been contemplating on life since 8:45AM.
Actually am getting pretty comfortable with this WFH arrangement. dont wanna jinx it 😬😬😬
What is Deloitte's tuition reimbursement policy? Can it fully fund a part time Masters degree in 3-4 years?
Have been pinged for a possible role as Director of Operations at a promising looking startup with a 50%% pay increase & equity. It looks like an amazing opportunity.. but my husband and I have just started trying for our first kid, and I'm not sure about leaving the stability and benefits of Big 4, even though I feel like I have run out of career growth here. Has anyone changed jobs at a similar point, or worked at a startup as a new mom, that might be able to share perspective or opinions?

Guys I know this question has been asked before, but just want to hear some thoughts on this. Is it worth it to go from one big 4 company (EY) to another (Deloitte) for consulting? The major factor is pay increase. The major down side is loss of people network. Thoughts?
5 years ago, I decline an opp to interview with Bain for an internal role. I think the title was process / tools specialist and the purpose was to provide SME on resources available to Bain’s consultants. Does anyone here have a sense of what the pay is for that type of role? I had been working as a consultant in HR Tech at the time and chose to move to industry instead. Bain had been a lifelong goal and I convinced myself I wasn’t good enough. It’s felt like the one that got away since.
Thoughts on activity in the heat (90’s) while pregnant? I’m 4 weeks along and want to keep up golfing, but worried about the heat. (Doctor says it’s fine - looking for how any of you mamas actually felt)
Anyone can share insights on what is the average salary raise and bonus at Grant Thornton and Moody's investors service? Also, what should be the salary expectation range for a 6+ YOE, MBA, CFA ,FRM for New York Location in the financial services industry?
New to this. Is it typical for a firm to ask a staff to do the work of a senior for a year to show that they are ready for a promotion?
Deloitte S&O Managers - what's your base salary?
Need advice; current employer won’t file h1b extension and visa expires in 3/19. Got an offer and company filed h1b yesterday. Should I join based on receipt or wait for approval?
Does Chartis have alt travel? I know they have a different travel schedule than big 4, so wondered how that works
Any other IL 🐠 who worked in NY also get double taxed? Anyone figure out how to get around this? Just got off the phone with IL and it seems like every state can have their position and we just pay2x
Does anyone maybbbbbe think that this new “spike” in corona virus cases could be possibly caused by these massive riots in every major city? Not saying the riots are bad or wrong, but let’s not kid ourselves and say these aren’t a contributing factor. So when people are surprised at the USAs rising rates, I mean come on...
Does anyone have any tips for starting the conversation with people about promotion readiness? I know I need to proactively bring it up in conversations, but want advice on the best way to frame
Best marriott category 7 or category 8 hotel for points redemption? Looking to stay 4-5 nights somewhere amazing

I wanted to flag so others can know, I live in mcol and I just received an offer for 120k base and a 15k signing bonus. I have three years of experience. I asked for a signing bonus and a 110k salary. If you are a senior, you should definitely be applying and just see what comes up. Crazy the market for seniors right now
