Will people continue to specify their city/state of residence on their resumes going forward? If most companies are leaning towards permanent WFH/remote model, what is the point of letting your potential employer know where you live (especially if they adjust wages based on COL)?

Because most companies are not leaning towards a permanent WFH model. That is just wishful thinking.

Just because you believe something does not make it true.

Your assumptions that most places are going to full time work from home is likely not correct

I took my address info off my resume years ago since it’s not relevant. Just email & mobile #.

likesmart

Same. If they need to know they will ask, but if relocation is needed that’s a negotiation point that you can reach once you’ve gotten into an interview.

While companies may not all be leaning toward WFH if they find a good candidate they may consider being flexible.

likehelpful

Because why wouldnt I brag about being from NYC lol

funny

Address, no. But city/state is a must. Society is changing. But we’ll never reach permanent WFH.

However, now I got an email from the hiring manager that hiring for my role has been paused due to the ongoing cost of living crisis. He expects to resume the hiring for the role in Q1 '23 and would resume the process then. So is it the end? Honestly, I don't expect him to come back. But what do you think?

Home office preference question. I am getting ready to redo the layout of my home office. One option I'm considering would have my desk facing a wall. I am wondering if anyone with this current setup has any feedback about it. I would face the wall so that I would have a better background for video conferences (am on about half the day) and also my cord situation would be cleaner.
