Honestly, most courses are fluff. The real edge comes from hands-on experience and learning from tough client situations. No certificate can teach you how to handle a panicked client at 8AM on a Monday.
Certifications can be a great way to learn, but you really do have to consider the time and money aspect, because they might not translate into your career. As much as possible I try to find guidance within the company or through networking. If you feel like you have any gaps in skills, that might be a good reason to get a cert.

Any course I ever took has felt like a waste of my time. I’ve gotten better ideas by speaking to fellow account managers on a more informal basis.
What kind of clients do you manage as an account manager? Account managers are still highly needed, it all depends on the companies perspectives though
