Slippery slope

I lived in Abu Dhabi and Dubai and based on the way they survey people and how cameras work there since 20 years ago. Toronto is not even in the same solar system, so I don't notice it. As for Loblows you can just not go to their stores and eventually if many people do the same they will just remove the body cams

Not thrilled about it, but compared to the number of times I’ve seen security following people around in stores, maybe a body cam makes it more accountable?

I don't see a problem with it. If there is an incident, it's always good to have footage. Otherwise it turns into arguments or people jumping to conclusions. I.e car accidents before dash cams were a huge headache/guess game.

If you're just walking around in a public space minding your own business, who cares if you're being recorded?

I am planning on asking for a raise in my base salary and I am unsure what the market price would be for my skills at a staffing agency. I am in the top producer at my company with over 50 producers. I generate an average of $120k in GM per quarter. I am approaching my first year end review and I am currently at a base salary of $70,000 and I have 3 years of prior experience in the industry. What should I be asking for in this situation?

Making a lot of money relative to the average but feeling poor? Median after-tax income was ~$55,000 in 1981 and was ~$73,000 in 2020. Using a Bank of Canada inflation calculator $55,000 in 1981 is equivalent to ~$165,000 today, which would put someone in the top 10% of earners today. But in 1981 the median family had that extra money. Who can I blame?

Toronto banks: remote or not? They sometimes post jobs where it doesn’t say it’s remote, but no branch/ location/address either. Then you get an interview and they tell you it’s remote/hybrid(1-2-3days, take your pick)/on-site. So, if you work at TD, Scotia, RBC, could you let everybody know in the comments what’s the deal for each? Are you remote, on-site, hybrid of some sort?

I have a few questions for people in consulting roles (both external/internal).

My partner is in corporate banking, but he wants to switch to a consulting/strategy-based role. I noticed people with those jobs typically have an MBA, and also majority of the job ads in similar roles has MBA as either a requirement or preferred qualification. So:

1) does MBA actually improve someone's chance in getting those roles?
2) are there any good Canadian MBA programs you'd recommend?

Thank you all!

Curious to know what you've seen as working to non working dollars split in Canadian agencies. Reference any specific brands (or categories) if you can. I'm used to seeing the conventional 15-20% split for non working (production dollars only, not including media budget, agency fees) but are those days gone now with the takeover of digital (vs traditional) ad placements?
