With the delta variant picking up, is it too risky to plan a Europe trip for late this month (in around 2 weeks)? Have never been a really want to go, but don’t want things to be shut down while there.

Catch a break my man. You can have this trip later. It's a miracle to move between countries rn. Too much of a hassle. I went to Dubai from India. Drained the backside jelly out of me.

Drained the what now ?

Europe is a continent. Are you traveling all across or visiting sone specific countries? The rules and # cases are different across countries

Don’t risk the hassle

If you’re an American; don’t risk it. If the US keeps banning Europeans whilst EU is doing better than US in terms of vaccinations and cases, they will shut the door again for Americans very soon. I believe they (EU) said a week ago that they will consider imposing a travel ban again two weeks from that point.

like

Delay, Virus is not a big problem, but if any of the country you travel lockdown, you will be having difficulty returning. Take a trip within USA.

How many people got the seat to fly out within that 48 hours —- how much did they pay for airline —- what happened to the payments/reservations the travelers planned for the rest of their trip…

Personal preference. I would be okay with going but it also depends which part of Europe.

My brother works in Germany and France and has spent 2weeks in each country over the past 2 months without any complications.

I was considering Italy, Croatia and Greece. One week per country

Moving between countries can be a hassle. If you go, pick one country and just go from city to city. Italy would be my choice for that - the regions are all so different, you might as well be in different countries.

Do it!!

Delay so you can get the full experience in the future

Going to Italy in 2 weeks, do it!!

Just got back from Europe. Do it. Everything was open, lots of European tourists and few Americans. Wasn’t hard at all, crossed three borders with no stopping just like pre covid

I wouldn't for 2 reasons. One you may get issue travel there or traveling back. 2) Europe especially Italy can be stricter about lock downs if we have to go back to that.
