-Work Opportunity Tax Credit-
Companies are now "churning" their employee pool to essentially "farm" the WOTC with little to no regard for their experience or willingness to work. Not only that, they are "dismissing" skilled, dedicated employees to create vacancies in favor of WOTC eligible hires while using the WOTC program to give exemption to EEOC laws on discrimination.
Some opinions please: How's the WOTC helping "targeted groups" and not just a tax credit scheme in disguise?

Hence why I never donate at retail stores. To me it's all a tax write off and it's so sad, because the intentions at the start were so good!

I think this type of language can be particularly harmful. It's a wonderful opp. to groups that would normally be overlooked in the application process. Yes it's a tax break but how else would these companies agree to it?

While I agree that I believe this is done mostly for the tax benefits it’s not the company’s fault. The company exists to make profit and current legislation allows them to make more profit by hiring certain classes of people. Poorly designed incentives breed bad behavior.

Hi - I am a career pivot from higher education into tech and have final round interviews for a DEI Coordinator role (which I'm super excited for). I am meeting with three people that I would be partnering with for the job and it was shared with me that these interviews will mainly be behavioral as well as questions on my technical skills. Does anyone have any resources to help me prepare for this? Anything is greatly appreciated!

I am frustrated as a Gay Woman who has given her all for 30+ years grinding to be the best. I have been in closet, out of closet, in-between and am tired of it. I want to be VALUED as a human being. I have gone from Rock Star to problem when people "found out". I have trained and promoted hundreds of people and been passed over for promotions because of not being a man. I have trained men with less experience, worse results only for them to move forward. If Diversity is important...prove it!

In honor of National Voter Registration Day, The New Yorker released the transcript of a previously unpublished interview with James Baldwin, who gave a first-hand account of "Freedom Day 1963," a Black voter-registration drive in Selma, Alabama. I'm in desperate need of tips to get genuine buy in from our predominantly white, male senior leadership to create a more inclusive environment. As is often the case, middle management and below is very diverse and then at Director+ it gets much more homogeneous. So far any real initiatives get shot down in favor of performative actions to post on SM. Is this just how it is, or can we try something different?

Working at a company and they can’t seem to hold on to their female, black and people of color employees. I blinked and 3 of the people who were in my onboarding class were either fired or they left. For context I’ve been in company less than a year and there are people who have been in the company 25yrs. I’m thinking of cutting loose before it gets to my turn.
