Involuntary removals are happening at high rates. We did that for a few students in our 5-6 cross-categorical center class. One student broke the classroom window, climbed out after subsequently cutting himself/bleeding all over, and started to walk home (has to cross 2 major streets). Our coordinator placed him on half days, which he couldn't handle. Then the coordinator placed him on an hour a day with gradual increases. This student is not the only one who had a plan like this at this school or in our district (we have three- 5/6 schools) and it's typically students who have a budding mental illness or students who have a disregard for well, anything- more like social maladjustment disorder. Does this happen in your district?
