I have interview scheduled and completed from Commonwealth Bank Bangalore location. All technical rounds cleared.
When I called HR i got a surprise answer..
They mentioned the position which I have intervied is different than the salary rem ranges. And my current salary is higher than position what they have got and asked for approval for rem ranges changes..
Is any one faced this? Ideally HR should know expectation and allocation before scheduling intervjew..

It sounds like you’re in a good spot… the downside of transitioning is that you don’t know what you’re getting yourself into… you don’t know the manager, you don’t know the team, the work could be completely different… it’s a complete restart to low man on the totem pole…
Is it worth the risk for $15K?… maybe, it depends on your comp plan…
But as a general rule, I think most people have a natural inclination to think they’re underpaid… I don’t think I’ve ever met someone who said, yes, I’m overpaid for my role…
Depends on the situation. You are taking a chance by switching jobs. Are willing to take a chance for the 15k?
Yes but it depends how much 15k means to you if its 150k vs 165k maybe not but almost definitely start looking if its 60k vs 75k.

Law of diminishing returns…
Can you get a better offer? If the answer to that is yes, then yes, provided it comes with decent work life balance. Would I leave on principle without a backup plan? Heck no.
Look at it from an after tax perspective instead. $15k becomes a lot less material when you consider what will actually go into your pocket.
Yes start with trying to get more where you are but make sure you are worth it (doing the work). If that doesn’t work of if it’s just not in the budget. Find it somewhere else. Likely you won’t be the last one to go
how do you know you are 15k below market?
It would depend on what kind of offers I get in the meantime. It can be very hard to find a job with good culture and a good team. The grass is always greener though so be careful.

It depends. $15k isn’t a lot if you consider taxes. If you really like the role, you can always stay based on it. However, you can also start applying elsewhere and see if you can get a higher pay. Usually you can get a sense of the company during the interview process and see if you want to work with them.
For me, it depends how long it’s been going on for. Other factors like work life balance and benefits are really important to me, so I’d probably need more than $15k to want to switch
Several years ago, I left a role and a team I enjoyed to do the same work for $15k more (from 75k to 90k) at another team. HATED IT....and I didn't feel like the $15k did anything to my lifestyle. BUT, the "title" of the role looked better, and I think they helped me get into a new role not quite 2 years later where I doubled my TC. The moral here: focus on your role, what you bring to the table, and how you can grow impact and scope. Leverage the accomplishments from that to either negotiate higher internally, or to position yourself for an upward move into another firm.
I would try to negotiate or find a second source of income. I left a fantastic contract job for a full time job with a 20k+ increase and now dealing with a bullying micromanager who pretends to be a friend, being gaslit, sandbag, probably will get fired and will likely take a hit to my reputation. Sometimes money isn’t the answer. Sometimes that increase will cause you to go into a different tax bracket and your take home doesn’t increase that much.
