Why…
…do you think a place like that would have it together?
…do you think you’re beyond ghosting?
…are you at all surprised by any of this?

They’re not that busy hiring. Its just poor training and short sightedness.
If recruiters spent the time to respond to every person they’re in contact with, they wouldn’t be able to get anything done. Don’t take it personally, it’s just the reality of things.
Maybe I wasn’t clear enough about what happened or you don’t understand the job responsibilities of a recruiter.
This recruiter reached out to me and set up a meeting then didn’t show up, and never replied or reached out again.
If a recruiter is interviewing or communicating with a candidate, then it is 1000% their job responsibility to keep in contact with that person with updates and results.
Not taking it personally, just saying I’m not going to forget people that are unprofessional and don’t do their jobs. And I would definitely not hire them
Ghosting happens so often now because recruiters are so inundated by candidate volume.
Despite ATS filtering for so many many candidates, I envision long hours, work that keeps coming at them and the pressure to place quickly.
Add to that recruiters who don’t even have a solid handle on the nuanced skills and talent needs of roles. In my experience working with recruiters, they actually have not done the work they’re hiring for.
So the whole process is an ineffective mess.
I think it’s why we see so many job reposts. Good people are filtered out, and bad matches are placed that don’t end up working out.
IMHO, the ATS/recruiter system is more of a problem than a help. If real human hiring teams just started looking at resumes directly they’d find better matches. They would likely not get past the first 20-30 applicants, but they’d land on better-fit selects to narrow down to their chosen applicant.
Less volume of candidates means faster response time, quick placement, being less bogged down and less ghosting.
Sorry to hear. After how many responses from them?
I got a referral and still ghosted. But also heard from the person that referred me that they are constantly laying off.
You are not that important
